21 May After Submission Party
After we spent a few months working with wonderful partners to submit for the Arts and Culture Initiative Grant from the Lilly Endowment we wanted to celebrate after our hard work in true Felege Hiywot Style.

For the past several months we’ve been working hard on the Eli Lilly Arts and Culture Grant with several wonderful partners. Together we have developed a wonderful sense of excitement and vision towards building a better local community together. After the submission was in we decided to bring together our partners again to celebrate all of our hard work!
Even though we did not advance to the next round we truly believe something amazing and beautiful has begun. We believe that there is so much potential in these partnerships that we want to continue coming alongside one another to see what can happen with a united vision.
The theme for our party was The Blue House. The Blue House is currently an arts summer camp program where children can learn about filmmaking and music through mentorship. The ultimate vision is that it would be an entrepreneurial space for professional artists to work and mentor youth in the community.
During the evening we had the opportunity to show everyone some of the films that the kids created through the previous summer camp. You can watch all of the films by going to The Blue House Facebook page.
And in true FHC style we had to have Ethiopian food!
