FHC in partnership with Edna Martin Christian Center Builds “Generation Gardens”

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” – Helen Keller

Bringing generations together is hugely important to the success of any community. The Martindale – Brightwood community happens to be a very multi-generational community which is why we are so excited about our current project we did in partnership with the Edna Martin Christian Center. We worked together with volunteers and our farm leaders to start nineteen raised beds and one wheelchair access bed through a grant. The purpose of these raised beds at Mono 16 Community Garden is to:

  • Provide cooking and gardening resources as well as training for the entire family.
  • An opportunity to cultivate your own raised bed in the neighborhood.
  • Receive the basic necessities for cooking in any environment.

We hope that these project will continue to foster growth and relationships in the Martindale – Brightwood Community through gardening.
