4H Tech Wizard Holiday Celebration

On December 13t4Hh, the Felege Hiywot Center hosted the 4H Tech Wizards and their families. It was great to have everyone at the center during the holiday season. The 4Hers made and decorated cookies. They also made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies in a jar to share with their families during the holidays. It was wonderful working with kids and their families to celebrate all their work and learning over the fall. 4H Tech Wizards is looking forward to the spring to continue learning and growing. Special Thanks to Yodit, Yeimi, Michael, and Executive Director Aster for facilitating and helping the club grow.

STEM/Gardening camp 2014

Our summer Youth Farm/STEM gardening camp is going strong and just completed third week of camp.

We thank our Board Members Chris Rothenberger, Director of Environmental Heath at Major Tool and Machine, Nicole Oglesby, Director, Diverse Community Partnership IUPUI Division of Continuing Studies and Dareskedar Henry CEO and founder of RebornCode for their support in making our camp successful.

Chris Rothenberger led the construction and completion of our green house funded by Lilly Endowment Capital fund.  For pictures click here

Ncole Oglesy was instrumental in connecting us with IUPUI Center for Earth and Environmental science (CEES).  Dr. Pamela Martin, director of CEES and her staff teach soil history and environmental science.  This program has received the top rating from our campers for its hands on and engaging activity.

Dareskedar Henry contributed greatly to our organizational system by creating and training FHC staff in using the Project Management system.  The system allowed us to categorize our summer activities, assign task and track the progress of these tasks.
